Our Top 4 Spots To Enjoy Sunset this Valentine’s Day!
Love it or hate it, you just can’t escape Valentine’s Day. The universal day of love is around the corner and it’s time to ditch heart-shaped chocolates and teddy bears and inject some real thought into how you celebrate.
Original Mason’s, South Africa’s first range of Cocktail Spritzers, suggests watching the sunset in one of Cape Town’s most romantic destinations. The best part is, you’ll be exploring our magnificent natural surroundings in a romantic way that won’t break the bank.
Our team of Mason’s Mixologists has selected a mix of instagram-worthy locations that offer stunning views; all you need now are fabulous weather conditions!
For the more active and adventurous, another option is to pack a picnic and head for the higher peaks that overlook Cape Town like Signal Hill, just like @marinascholzephoto who was snapped by @julia_winkler enjoying panoramic views of the ocean with her loved one. Definite couple goals!
Best enjoyed with a Grand Cosmo to match the pink sunset.
Take a drive out to Kirstenbosch and find a spot for the perfect photograph, just like this one by @mgodrich. Don’t forget your picnic blanket and cooler box of zingy Moscow Mules that give a fresh punch of ginger on a hot day.
If you’re keen for a dip and picnicking on the beach until sunset, we recommend sipping our Piña Coladas after a swim at Oudekraal in Camps Bay. This is a great spot to eat al fresco, and impress your loved one with your cooking skills. Take a walk in the water just like @goofmabushe did!
For a day of beach bats, swimming, tanning and chilling together, grab your towels, umbrella and picnic and head off to Llandudno. We suggest arriving at 3pm to catch the most beautiful part of the afternoon, then hanging around for sunset and watching the moonrise together. Make sure you snap a memorable photo as the sun dips in the sky, just like this one posted by @lewis.tobias.

One other important note: in South Africa, the legal blood alcohol limit is 0.05g per 100ml. The rule of thumb is this: an adult weighing 68kg can process a maximum of one unit of alcohol per hour. One unit is two thirds of a beer or spirit cooler with 5% alcohol content or 75ml of red or white wine with an alcohol content of 12%. We recommend that you make use of one of the city’s very reliable taxi cab services like UBER when drinking.
